Arriving from Munchen. Driving instructions:

The distance from Munchen to Zell am See is 181km.

6km after leaving Munchen, turn left on A8 towards Salzburg, Nurnberg and Munchen and drive 101km.
After that take the exit towards Exit 112, Traunstein and head towards Zell am See and Lofer.
At Siegsdorf turn right on B306 for 13km.
Close to Inzell take B305 for 8.5km and after right turn, continue along B21 / E60 for 4.5km.
Entry in Austria follows, head on B178 for 9.5km and turn right on B311 - drive for 37km.
Turn right at Zeller Straße for 400m and take Loferer Bundesstraße for 1.6km.
You will arrive in Zell am See.


Driving from Salzburg, follow the route:

From Salzburg to Zell am See are 84km.

Leave Salzburg and after 4.5 km take the 3rd exit at the roundabout and head on A1 /E55 / E60 towards Innsbruck, Munchen and Villach (5km).
Taking Exit 297, at Siezenheim head on B1 for 3.5km. Thus you will enter Germany and after 23km on B21 / E60, follows Austria.
Take B178 for 9.5km and drive 37km on B311. Right on Zeller Straße, head on Loferer Bundesstraße for 1.6km and you are welcome in Zell am See.


Driving from Vienna

The distance between Vienna and Zell am See is 383km. Follow the instructions:

Leave Vienna and after 4km you need to take A4 towards Graz, Linz, Bratislava, Budapest.
Head towards Prague, Brno, Graz and Linz.
Take: A23 / E59 / E60 towards: Italy, Slovenia, Germany for 9.5km
Take A2/E59 for 54km
Head towards Bruck an der Mur, Semmering, Neunkirchen West
Take S6 and head towards Graz, Salzburg, Linz for 105km
Head towards Salzburg and Linz
Take A9 / E57 for 64km
Take the exit towards Salzburg, Liezen and Schladming
Close to Liezen, take: B320 / E651 for 73km
Close to Radstadt, take: B99 / E651 for 5km
Take: E651 for 0.9km
Turn right: A10 / E55 towards: Salzburg and Eben for 17km
Take the exit towards: Bischofshofen, Zell am See, Sankt Johann im Pongau, etc.
Take: B311 for 49km and after right turn to Schmitten you will arrive in Zell am See.


Driving from Innsbruck

The distance Innsbruck-Zell am See is 154km. Follow the driving instructions:

After Innsbruck drive 4km and then take A12 / E45 / E60 towards: Salzburg and Munchen for 59km.
Take the exit towards Exit 17, Lofer, Sankt Johann in Tirol, Brixental and head towards Sankt Johann in Tirol, Lofer, Felbertauern and Brixental.
Close to Worgl, turn left: B171 towards: Felbertauern and Sankt Johann in Tirol for 0.1km
At Bruggermuhle, take: B178 for 53km and another 35km on B311.
After right turn at Zeller Straße, head on Loferer Bundesstraße and after 1.6km you will arrive in Zell am See.


By plane:

By train:
Zell has a regular national and international train service and a 10 min.bus service to Kaprun. The quickest and simplest public transport route to Zell am See and Kaprun is to fly into Salzburg's international airport, obtain a shuttle transfer to the Salzburg train station and catch a train to the resort.

Salzburg's main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) is located at Sudtirolerplatz, on the banks of the river Salzach, 20 mins walk from old city. The station is an important European railway hub, connecting Salzburg with many major cities in Europe. There are direct services to Zell am See.
