Strass is a small and fascinating village at the entrance to the Zillertal, a scenic valley, where holidays bring joy and a truly good time. Surrounded by picturesque mountains with an excellent ski arena, the village is a very attractive resort predominantly for families and visitors coming to take a rest away from the city. Winter activities
The great variation of ski areas will let you have a superb experience on the slopes of Zillertal, Alpbachtal or Achensee. At the altitude of 2,500 metres the skiers can choose among 176 kilometres of ski terrain and can be easily transferred from one slope to another due to the well organised system of 43 lifts. An access to the ski areas of Spieljoch and Hochfügen-Hochzillertal is also provided by the free shuttle bus. There you can combine skiing with contemplating the magnificent scenery from the ridges. The snow-making machines guarantee that the ski period lasts till spring. What's more, the opportunity for moonlight skiing is given. Snowboard fans will find a perfect chance to practise at the fun park and half-pipes in the area. Nursery slopes for the beginners, cross-country skiing tracks and ski schools are among other attractions in Strass. Even if you are not a ski enthusiast, the winter wonderland will encourage you to take a hiking tour along the clearly marked paths, or to join the skaters on the ice rink to have fun.
Summer activities
Hiking is a real adventure in Strass – routes of different difficulty level pass through magnificent meadows, sunny hills, green pastures and along swift rivers. The Zillertal Mountains offer you the unique landscape, fresh alpine air, and age-old forests, where you can find some shade on hot summer days. Active visitors will be glad to discover the beautiful biking trails, tennis courts, Nordic walking tracks and horseback rides to see the most of this wonderful area of the valley. How about relaxing in the Zillertal spa centres? The newest one features the longest water slide in Western Austria, bubble grottos with a waterfall and climbing nets, as well as many surprises for the kids.

You won't feel bored in Strass even for a minute. Although the village is small and tranquil, there are many cultural events that will be a source of entertainment in the afternoon or evening. Except for one-day trips to the surrounding villages, there are great alpine parties for both locals and tourists to socialise.
