Together with 4 other villages Maurach is a part of the famous
Achensee region, located by the Achensee lake, one of the Austrian's largest.
Skiing in Maurach is especially dedicated to the skiers of intermediate abilities, as more than a half of the pistes of the
Rofan Ski Area is signed as of „medium difficulty”.
If you are a more demanding skier you may purchase the
Achensee Regional Skipass giving you an acces to 32 ski lift facilities and 59 km of pistes in total in the 3 ski areas:
- Maurach - Rofanseilbahnen;
- Achenkirch – Christlumlifte;
- Pertisau – Karwendelbergbahnen.
This skipass is available for the period not shorter than 4 days. Cost of the 4-day ski pass – 99 EUR.
There are also about 30 winter hiking trails.
