Hopfgarten is a traditional style Austrian village, set around a fascinating church and dominated by its yellow twin towers. The village is situated at only 620 m above sea level, but with quick access to the highest point of the Hohe Salve Mountain at 1629 m. Hopfgarten is part of the largest skiing area in Austria, the Ski Welt, offering limitless skiing options to all level skiers. The village itself is calm and immersed into traditional serenity and friendly warmth.
The resort of Hopfgarten ensures access to some of the best
skiing in Austria – with the high peaks and varied slopes of its own area and especially around the Ski Welt circuit. But it still has the disadvantage of its south-facing slopes, on most of which artificial snow cover is assured. The skiing scene in the resort is best for intermediates and tempting for experts with 60% to 30% pistes respectively. Beginners will also find some easy runs, though better opportunities and nursery slopes are found in the nearby Soll. Hopfgarten has its own gondola now which makes access to pistes easier and in no time. The resort being part of the Ski Welt offers the immense opportunities of the largest skiing area in the Austrian mountains with 250 km of great and varied skiable terrains. Boarding in Hopfgarten is really 5-stars. With the stunning descents and the plenty of off-piste to explore, the snow park and the half pipe, the village assures fun and adventure on the board. Immersed in alpine sunshine, the resort reveals the amazing beauty of the Hohe Salve mountain and the nearby Wilder Kaiser range. And the best way to explore is cross country along the 25 km of marked mountain trails. You can also practice some ice-skating, paragliding or hang gliding here. And when off the slopes, enjoy and relax in the local sport center, take a swim or a sauna, or play some bowling with friends.
Apres-ski is in total harmony with the village spirit – calm and sunny. A selection of 15 restaurants, mainly specialized in traditional cuisine, warmly welcome you. At night the 14 bars and 2 nightclubs will take care of your best mood and entertainment.
