The village of Berwang is set in a charming valley, surrounded by majestic peaks and gentle slopes, right in the heart of Tyrol. It is at 1336 m on the Austrian side of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze and is part of the Zugspitz skiing arena. The village of Berwang is small, with only 632 inhabitants, but a great tourist destination, offering a vast lodging base of 2200 beds. It is a paradise of beauty and crispy snowed slopes for all nature lovers and winter sport fans.

offers great skiing, especially for beginners and intermediates, on its 40 ha of ski area. Nursery runs in the resort combined with fascinating programs on the slopes for the little ones are the best initiation to the sport for your kids. Intermediate terrain around the village is varied and challenging with the 20% advanced runs added for the fastest improving. Experts will find some good off-piste and more… Berwang is part of the Zugspitze Arena with direct access to 170 km of downhill runs to suit all abilities and plenty of off-piste to explore. The arena includes the villages of Ehrwald, Lermoos, Berwang, Biberwier, Bichlbach, Heiterwang and Lähn-Wängle, all connected by a modern 52 lift system and regular bus services. Besides skiing, the area offers half-pipes, snow parks for boarders and a children’s park with limitless adventures and fun for the little ones.
Off the slopes, Berwang invites you to try some tobogganing, curling, ice-skating or take a delightful walk into the heart of the magical mountains and adorable landscapes around. The village has a perfectly equipped sports center, where you can play tennis or squash, go for a swim, and so much more!
Berwang is well prepared to meet tourists and offer them a bit of everything they need - shopping, leisure activities and, of course, a lot of entertainment. Charming mountain restaurants and cheerful bars will host you for drink and excellent meal. Nightlife is lively, though not too wild, as the resort is predominantly a family destination. If you appreciate typical Tyrolean spirit in small mountain settlements, another adventure to recommend is a visit to the neighbor villages of Rinnen, Brand, Mitteregg, Kelmen and Namlos, ones of special charm and character.
