At only 45 minutes from Innsbruck, the village of Alpbach is nestling in the heart of Austrian Tyrol. Alpbach has been voted several times the most beautiful village in Austria. It first welcomed tourists in 1930 and since then has kept its traditions of hospitality and preserved the overwhelming loveliness of the area. The village will offer you adorable views - old-time traditional buildings, narrow streets and a fascinating church plus the surrounding mountains, blossoming in green and colorful sunshine in summer and magical along the snow-covered winding paths in winter.

The village is top-class for families. It offers some good skiing predominantly catering for beginners and intermediates and 45 km of downhill runs. 11% of the terrain suits expert and advanced ability skiers, but does not offer enough challenges for the best of them. A good opportunity is to invest in the Kitzbuheler Ski Pass, which will guarantee you direct access to 700km of skiing area in 30 resorts. The local ski school is a prestigious one with special dedication to children's lessons. Snowboarding is more than excellent here, with two snow parks and a half-pipe. 22 km of marked trails are available for cross country enthusiasts into the heart of the beautiful mountain.

Additional activities in the resort include a floodlit toboggan run, sleigh-rides, snow-shoe walking and the special delight of torchlight walks. There is also a swimming pool to assure moments of relaxation and additional sport and leisure indoor activities. The village often hosts international events.

Apres-ski scene is calm and assuring the right dose of fun till not too late at night. Some excellent bars and a casual nightclub will take care for those searching for entertainment. Restaurants are mainly specialized in traditional local cuisine, but some add international meals.
