The Haus ski resort is in the highest class of resorts in Austria. It is a popular, fast growing, and well-developing winter destination. It established its reputation as a top-notch resort in 1983, the year it hosted the Alpine Ski World Championships. Haus hosted the Nordic Ski World Championships in 1999. At the present it is a candidate for the edition in 2009. There are 86 chair and cable car lifts, 9 ski-mountains, and 167 km of ski slopes in the area of Haus. These are all available for 140 days of the year at a minimum. Entertainment possibilities include golf, nightclubs, restaurants, and more. There is an ultramodern 18-hole golf course in Haus, which is a member of the country’s Leading Golf Courses group.
