St. Wolfgang
St. Wolfgang is an ancient village and idyllic resort, situated among spectacular setting on the shores of Lake Wolfgangsee. No matter it is one of the smaller ski resorts in Austria, it has direct access to 10km of downhill piste terrain with 18 individual pistes served by 9 ski lifts. The village is set at 540 m elevation, but the local ski slopes on the Postalm plateau provide rather steep and windy uphill ride to the 1200m base of the ski lifts. It is reachable within some 35 -minutes ski bus ride from the village and its gentle and wide slopes are suited especially for beginners and early intermediates. The advanced intermediates and boarders can continue further with the bus for another 15 minutes and explore the challenges of the Gosau ski area, attended mainly later in the week. In general, St. Wolfgang is not very attractive for the advanced skiers but they can still relax and cruise the gentle slopes. Snowboarding is also available mostly to those that have always wanted to put feet on the board in the environment of peaceful and wide slopes.

The charming resort of St.Wolfgang represents also a wide selection of non-skiing activities. Hikers will be extremely fascinated by the scenic mountain trails, leading to the high-elevated plateau areas, panoramic ridges and gorgeous peaks. Snowshoe walking, skating, tobogganing and sleigh rides are among the activities that attract tourists but why not accept some other interesting offers like balloon ride. Those that desire to relax down in the village can undertake opportunities like visiting the Thermal Baths in Bad Ischl or some more active like bowling and curling. If the shopping venues in St. Wolfgang are not enough for you, an excursion to the vivid cultural and historic city of Salzburg is available.

A blend of traditions and modernity with exciting atmosphere, together with the natural beauties of St. Wolfgang are hard to be described in few words.
