Arriving from Munchen. Driving instructions:

The distance from Munchen to Obertauern is 223km.

6km after leaving Munchen, turn left on A8 towards Salzburg, Nurnberg and Munchen and drive 126km.
You will enter Austria and then you should take A1 / E52 / E60 towards Italy and Slovenia.
About 4km more and close to Salzburg the right motorway should be A10 / E55 - for 61km.
Take the Exit 63 towards Graz and Altenmarkt and then E651.
At Altenmarkt im Pongau head on B99 for 25km and after Radstadt you will arrive in Obertauern.


Driving from Salzburg, follow the route:

From Salzburg to Obertauern are 91km.

Leave Salzburg and after 4km. you have to take B150 for another 4.5km.
Turn right for A10 / E55 and your direction has to be Graz and Villach (55km driving).
Take the Exit 63 towards Graz and Altenmarkt and then E651.
At Altenmarkt im Pongau head on B99 for 25km and after Radstadt you will reach Obertauern.


Driving from Vienna

The distance between Vienna and Obertauern is 331km. Follow the instructions:

Leave Vienna and after 4km you need to take A4 towards Graz, Linz, Bratislava, Budapest.
Head towards Prague, Brno, Graz and Linz.
Take: A23 / E59 / E60 towards: Italy, Slovenia, Germany for 9.5km
Take A2/E59 for 54km
Head towards Bruck an der Mur, Semmering, Neunkirchen West
Take S6 and head towards Graz, Salzburg, Linz for 105km
Head towards Salzburg and Linz
Take A9 / E57 for 64km
Take the exit towards Salzburg, Liezen and Schladming
Close to Liezen, take: B320 / E651 for 72km
1.6km after the Pass Radstadt continue along B99 - 20km more and you will be in Obertauern.


Driving from Innsbruck

The distance Innsbruck-Obertauern is 263km. Follow the driving instructions:

After Innsbruck drive 4km and then take A12 / E45 / E60 towards: Salzburg and Munchen for 74km.
Entry in Germany follows and after 26km on A93 / E45 take Exit 56 towards Salzburg.
68km on A8 / E52 and entry in Austria is the next.
Take A1 / E52 / E60 and drive for about 4km towards Italy and Slovenia.
Close to Salzburg head on A10 / E55 for 61km and then follow the directions Exit 63, Graz and Altenmarkt.
Follows: E651, then at Altenmarkt im Pongau - B99 for 25km and you will get in Obertauern.


Major villages in Lungo: St. Michael/Lungau, St. Margarethen, Mauterndorf, Mariapfarr, Tamsweg, Rennweg, Katschberghohe.


Tips:
There are a number of ways to get to the ski resort of Obertauern, located south of the provincial capital of Salzburg. A flight to Salzburg and a shuttle to the resort is the most convenient way of arriving, while a train all the way from London with several connections, or self-drive are alternative options.


By train:
By train, you can travel to Radstadt station (approx. 20 km north of Obertauern), south of Salzburg, from London, with the last leg of the journey to Obertauern by bus or taxi. A Eurostar service from London Waterloo leaves daily for Paris gare du Nord at 17:09. An overnight train to Munich leaves Paris gare de l'Est, with a regular Eurocity train to Salzburg from Munich. Change here for the last train connection to Radstadt.
