Situated at 758 metres above the sea-level, on the edge of the National Park Hohe Tauern, the village is also only 5 kilometres away from the glacier skiing area Kitzsteinhorn, and a few kilometres from the renowned resorts – Kaprun and Zell am See. Its favourable location makes it a great winter and summer destination with numerous sport and leisure opportunities awaiting for you.
Summer activities
In the summer the picturesque mountain scenery encourages to take guided walks. Tracks of a
different difficulty level are innumerable as the village is surrounded by the Hohe Tauern, the Dientene and the Kitzbühele Alps. Of course, not only hiking, but also mountain biking is extremely popular in this region. As a result, the area of Bruck an der Grossglocknerstrasse offers about 15 cyclist-friendly businesses providing also accommodation. From other activities, you can for instance swim or play tennis.
Winter activities
Winter activities include downhill skiing, cross-country skiing on around 29 kilometres of runs, and tobogganing. There is a free ski lift perfect for beginners, and two other lifts from Bruck to Pichlberg. More advanced skiers would rather go to Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See or to the aforementioned glacier. Snowboarders have a great area prepared especially for them, where they will find a permanent half-pipe. It's only 3 kilometres away from Zell am See.

What's more, you may expect to participate in some regional events during your stay at Bruck. Either in town, or in the nearby Fusch, there are evenings with folk music organized, culinary celebrations, such as a tour through the local kitchen of Pinzgau with buffets of salads and desserts. Also local sport competitions are held as well as guided tours to the mountains.
