Saalbach is a popular ski destination in the Austrian Alps, widely associated with the village of Hinterglemm, as they both represent a wonderful agglomeration. Located in a panoramic area at the heart of the Glemm Valley, it is very close to Zell-am-See which adds to the skiing opportunities in the area. The resorts in the same region are Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Kaprun and Grossarl – all of them renowned for skiing, mountaineering and tranquil ambience. Winter activities
It is just enough for the visitor to be fond of winter sports, since there is a big selection of events, facilities and après ski entertainment. Saalbach has become a modern ski resort with very well-organized lift system and conveniences for the skiing fans. The area includes 200 km of circuit and is perfect for intermediates who love to diversify pistes and adore the scenic mountainsides. Fast transfer is provided by the lifts among which there are the newly built Westgipfelbahn gondola, Bernkogel triple-chair and lots of other installations. Terrain parks above Hinterglemm and Leogang are superb attractions for snowboarders. There is also variety of cross-country trails and several toboggan runs. Have a snack and drink at the mountain restaurants and meet the rest of your skiing “colleagues”.

Enjoy the warm summer days in Saalbach, where the stunning views of the Pinzgauer Grass summits will stay in your heart forever. The sports that can be practiced after the snow melts down are so many that for sure you will not stay bored. Over 100 km of clear mountain-bike itineraries will be a true excitement for the cyclists and hikers will be able to choose among the routes of all levels of difficulty. By the gondola or on foot, you can pass across verdant alpine meadows and reach up to the snow-covered peaks and stay amazed by the panorama to the alpine surroundings. Fitness, tennis, swimming and golf are the activities that accomplish the sports vision of Saalbach, but if you are an adherent of the extreme there are archery, rafting and paragliding available.
