Just 100kms south of Salzburg lies the resort of Saalbach / Hinterglemm - Leogang
Saalbach / Hinterglemm - Leogang ski resort is southwest of Salzburg in the province of Salzburg, and has a number of travel options for a straightforward journey. Flying to Salzburg or Munich and boarding a train to Zell am See, followed by bus transfer is the easiest option; alternatively, driving to the resorts yourself is usually a lot quicker. Trains are also available from London, while a self-drive all the way is another alternative.

Arriving from Munchen. Driving instructions:
The distance from Munchen to Saalbach-Hinterglemm is 191km.
6km after leaving Munchen, turn left on A8 towards Salzburg, Nurnberg and Munchen and drive 101km.
Take the exit towards Exit 112 and Ruhpolding, then at Siegsdorf turn right on B306 for 13km.
Then your direction has to follow B306 (13km), B305 (8.5km) and B21 / E60 for 4.5km.
Entry into Austria follows, after which you have to take B178 for approx.10km and turn right on B311.
35km more and take direction to Glemmerstraße, then to Vienhofen.
Next is Glemmtaler Landesstraße - drive along for 5km and you will reach Saalbach.
Driving from Salzburg, follow the route:
From Salzburg to Saalbach are 93km.
Leave Salzburg and after 4.5km take the 3rd exit and drive along A1 / E55 / E60 towars Innsbruck, Munchen and Villach.
5km more and at Siezenheim take B1 for approx. 4km.
Enter Germany and after 23km on B21 / E60 you will reach Austria.
B178 is the right motorway, 10km later - B311 for 35km.
Head towards Glemmerstraße, then to Vienhofen.
Next is Glemmtaler Landesstraße - drive along for 5km and you will reach Saalbach.
Driving from Vienna
The distance between Vienna and Saalbach is 387km. Follow the instructions:
Leave Vienna and after 14km you need to take B1, then A1 towards Linz and continue for 288km till you take the Exit 297.
At Siezenheim take B1 and after 4km you will enter Germany.
Take B21 / E60 and then entry to Austria follows.
Here you have to take B178 for 10km, then B311 for 35km.
Head towards Glemmerstraße, then to Vienhofen.
Next is Glemmtaler Landesstraße - drive along for 5km and you will arrive in Saalbach.
Driving from Innsbruck
The distance Innsbruck-Saalbach is 163km. Follow the driving instructions:
After Innsbruck drive 4km and then take A12 / E45 / E60 towards: Salzburg and Munchen for 59km.
Head towards Sankt Johann in Tyrol, Lofer, etc.
Close to Worgl turn left on B171 towards Felbertauern and Sankt Johann in Tyrol.
At Bruggermühle head on B178 for 53km, after which you should orientate towards B311 for 34km.
Head towards Glemmerstraße, then to Vienhofen.
Next is Glemmtaler Landesstraße - drive along for 5km and you will arrive in Saalbach.
By airplane:
Salzburg is the nearest international airport and is serviced by scheduled and charter services worldwide; however, far more options are available at Munich's FJ Strauss Airport. After that Zell am See can be reached by direct train from both Munich and Salzburg (shuttles and buses go to Salzburg train station from its airport); from where you can wait for a regularly scheduled bus to Saalbach or travel by taxi for the remaining 18kms. A train will take you all the way to Leogang.

Eben im Pongau (11 km away) or Radstadt (18 km away), onward journey by bus or taxi to Filzmoos.

By train, the Eurostar service leaves London at 17:09 daily and arrives at 20:59 in Paris (Nord). From Paris gare de l'Est, board the overnight train leaving at 22:56 to Munich, arriving the next morning at 08:59. A Eurocity train leaves at 09:26 from Munich and arrives in Salzburg 10:54, from where there are hourly buses to Saalbach and Hinterglemm.
