Arriving from Munchen. Driving instructions:
The distance from Munchen to Ischgl is 196km.
The route before the Austrian border is the following:
B2R / E54 (1.4km) - Pass Munchen - A95 / E533 (69km).
Then - B2 / E533 for 12km, B23 for 15km and you will reach the Austrian border.
12km on B187 and 20km on B179 follows.
Other 10km on B189 and 4km after Pass Imst, continue along B171 / Tiroler Bundesstraße.
Next - A12 / E60 towards Bregenz and Arlberg (15km).
A little bit more than 8km on S16 / E60 and B316 towards Pians and Silvretta Hochalpenstraße.
After Pass Pians, 21km on B188 and you will arrive in Ischgl.
Driving from Salzburg, follow the route:
From Salzburg to Ischgl are 286km.
Leave Salzburg and after 4.5km you have to take A1 / E60 towards Innsbruck and Munchen for 9km.
Next: entry in Germany and heading on A8 / E52 for 70km.
After Exit 101, 25km on A93 and you will reach the Austrian border.
Continue on A12 / E60 for 146km, then - S16 / E60 for 8km
Take B316 towards Pians and Silvretta Hochalpenstraße.
After Pass Pians, 21km on B188 and you will arrive in Ischgl.
Driving from Vienna
The distance between Vienna and Ischgl is 580km. Follow the instructions:
Leave Vienna and after 14km you have to take B1 in order to connect with A1 towards Linz and Sankt Polten. Drive for 292km and you will entry in Germany. 70km on A8 / E52, 25km on A93 and you will reach the Austrian border.
Continue on A12 / E60 for 146km, then - S16 / E60 for 8km.
Head on B316 towards Pians and Silvretta Hochalpenstraße.
After Pass Pians, 21km on B188 and you will arrive in Ischgl.
Driving from Innsbruck
The distance Innsbruck- Ischgl is 102km. Follow the driving instructions:
After Innsbruck drive for 3km and connect with A12 / E60 towards Bregenz and Garmisch for 67km.
8km on S16 / E60 and afterwards take B316 with direction to Pians and Silvretta Hochalpenstraße.
After Pass Pians, 21km on B188 and you will arrive in Ischgl.
Some tips:
Ischgl is situated high up in the Silvretta mountain range, approximately 100kms from Innsbruck and close to the border with Switzerland. The most convenient means of reaching the resort from the UK is by taking a plane from London to Innsbruck and then either hiring a car or taking public transport to complete the journey.
By rail:
Innsbruck has good rail connections to the rest of the European continent, and rail transportation is an affordable, efficient and comfortable alternative to driving. From Waterloo station in the UK, take the Eurostar to Paris, from where you can take a connecting overnight train from gare de l'Est to Munich, and then another connection to Innsbruck via the Eurocity train. Trains run from Innsbruck to Landeck, from where there are free, hourly buses to Ischgl.
By airplane:
Innsbruck's provincial airport is accessible from all major European cities, including London, Paris and Amsterdam. If you are coming from any other part of the world, you will need to go through the international airports in Munich or Zurich.
