Located at the elevation of 542 metres and surrounded by four beautiful lakes, Keutschach will leave you with great impressions and unforgettable images of its panorama, picturesque both in summer and winter. Getting there is easy and possible by railway or bus, and the nearest airport of Klagenfurt is just to the east of Wörthersee, the largest lake in the area. Surprisingly enough, the history of this area goes back to the early Bronze Age, when first settlements were founded in the Keutschach Valley. What is to be seen today, are the remains of the Middle Ages fortress.

Summer activities
There is a wide range of activities offered in the town. You can choose between hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and water sports. If you prefer more relaxing pastimes, you can try golf or fishing. Clear waters of the lakes encourage to have a swim and enjoy the day at one of the beaches. This facility that covers 10,000 square metres is located on the shores of Rauchelsee.
