Berg im Drautal is best reached by car, as fast trains stop only at the nearby station of Greifenburg.
By car:
Driving from
Vienna, you should head on the Southern Motorway A2, direction to Klagenfurt. Continue, passing by Villach and Spittal Drau. Take the B 100 directing to Lienz.
Driving from
Germany it is recommended that you take the Southern Motorway to Klagenfurt again and then follow the same route.
You could also land at the airport of Klagenfurt and drive as described in the above instruction to Berg im Drautal.
Coming from
Italy you will have two options. The first one takes you to the Sillian B100 and you head to Lienz. From there you will easily get to Berg in Drautal by following the signs.
The second one needs you to take the Thörl-Maglern road, then to Villach on A10. Continue to Spittal and take the exit to Lendorf (B100). Follow the signs to Berg/Drau and will soon reach it.
By train:
There is good train traffic to Lienz and Spittal. From there it is recommended to take the bus or drive. Fast and express trains stop only at the station of Greifenburg and from there you can transfer to a local one, which will take you to Berg im Drautal.
