Bärnstatt Chapel
( 20 km away from Brixen, 7 km away from Soll, 24 km away from Westendorf )
This Baroque chapel is located in Scheffau, 6.5 km away from Soll. It was built in 1693 and expanded in 1765. The chapel was consecrated to St. Leonard, the patron saint of prisoners and pets, and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In the past many pilgrims came here from the Inn Valley, and it is believed that the stone stairway at one end of the lake was built for them. Pilgrimage day is on November 6.
