Not only does it chronicle the history of skiing in the region in an informative and interesting way, it also offers exhibitions of handicraft, displays related to agriculture, and a weaver's workshop. Rauris is 45 km away from Saalbach, which is 4 km away from Hinterglemm. The two village were merged in one resort area. During summer Rauris Valley comes alive with hikers. This scenic valley offers over 150 km of marked hiking trails. Especially notable is the Sheidlwinkel Valley with the 5-century old Rauriser Tauernhaus. Some trails go right by the roosts of bearded vultures, a recently reintroduced species of avifauna. Other trails go by country inns. One is the “hut to hut” trail in Rauris, which goes up to several 3000-m peaks in the region. You can trek in the footsteps of famous explorers and gold miners. Hohenwerfen Fortress

It rises in the scenic Salzach Valley between the Hagen and Tennen mountain ranges. The bulwark dates from the 11th century.
