Zeiss Planetarium in Schwaz
( 28 km away from Alpbach, 22 km away from Kramsach, 19 km away from Reith )
The town of Schwaz is 28 km away from Alpbach, the key resort in the region of Alpbachtal. The facade of the Zeiss Planetarium expresses its outlook and mentality - progressive and future-oriented. This building is an educational and cultural centre, which hosts a wide variety of interesting events. Its main focus is to educate children and adults about astronomy. It also promotes local and regional efforts to bring tourism and education together. Visitors to the planetarium sit in a cool auditorium underneath an 8-m high dome and learn interesting facts about the solar system. There is a wide variety of programs, and everyone is sure to find one they understand and like.

Via Claudia
There are a number of interesting attractions in Pfunds, a quaint village 14 km away from Nauders, Reschenpass. One is the Via Claudia, a regional hiking trail. It offers four path zones and a length of 50 km, and was developed in 5 years. Around two millenniums ago the Roman conquerors enlarged the old route across the Reschen passageway with the aim to establish firmer connections between Rome and its northern provinces. This is the Via Claudia today. It is an easy walk – naturally you won't cover the whole length of it – and a truly special experience.

ALTFINSTERMÜNZ FORTRESS
Altfinstermünz has always been very important due to its strategic central location. It served as a border post and a connecting point between the Engadin, the Vinschgau, and the Inntal valley. The bridge today dates back to medieval times, but a defensive structure on this site dates back to Roman times. The Romans built a road for military purposes through the ravine and a wooden bridge across the River Inn. The fortifications on this site were first mentioned in 1263. There is evidence that this perilous, winding road was already in use around 1380.

Der Turm
Among the most famous landmarks of Pfunds is the tower at the bridge across the river Inn. It is likely that Duke Welf built the original structure in the 900s. Under Maximilian I it was enlarged to a hunter´s lodge. In its history the tower has served as a fortification.

Richterhaus
( 16 km away from Nauders )
The judge´s house is located in an area of the village called Stuben. It is characteristic of the local architecture. The central and side houses are solid, comprised of two houses with a wide arch and corner tower. Friezes were discovered in the upper floor hall in 1977. They depict the judicial coat of arms and epigrams. In 1810 the court was disbanded and moved to Nauders. The last judge was J.M. Senn.

Silberbergwerk
These interesting ruins are located in proximity to the Alpine hut Platzer Alm at an elevation of 2000 m. Here the silver ore prospected in the Platzertal valley was smelted. The mine closed down when mineral resources started to be delivered from other countries. The mine ruin can be visited in the Platzertal valley and from Pfunds to Greit.

Pfundser Klamm
This scenic walk has the additional advantage of being easy. The Klammsteig path runs along Radurschlbach stream to Greit or Kalten Wirt, starting from Stampfau pasture. You will delight in the unspoilt nature, the crisp air, the romantic sound of the waterfalls and the fabulous alpine flora. Be warned that good shoes are necessary.
