Zeiss Planetarium in Schwaz

The town of Schwaz is 28 km away from Alpbach, the key resort in the region of Alpbachtal. The facade of the Zeiss Planetarium expresses its outlook and mentality - progressive and future-oriented. This building is an educational and cultural centre, which hosts a wide variety of interesting events. Its main focus is to educate children and adults about astronomy. It also promotes local and regional efforts to bring tourism and education together. Visitors to the planetarium sit in a cool auditorium underneath an 8-m high dome and learn interesting facts about the solar system. There is a wide variety of programs, and everyone is sure to find one they understand and like.


St. Petrus Parish Church
( 7 km away from Alpbach, 5 km away from Kramsach )
This church is located in Reith. Its existence was first recorded in history in 1187. A highlight is the baptismal font made of red marble, the only remnant of the original Gothic style of the church. The organ was built in 1930. The frescoes were painted by Josef Högele. The chapel on the cemetery, consecrated to St. Margaretha and St. Michael, was first mentioned in a document in 1338. Renowned artist Gregor Löffler completed the church bell in 1560.


Reith nature preserve

The park is home to several historic castles, including the Matzen castle, two artificial ponds, and the so-called Nympheum. Franz von Lipperheide designed the park in the English style in the late 19th century. Matzen castle is completely encircled by the park. The park ranks among the most beautiful cultural landscapes in Tirol. It is open to visitors all year round.


Lipperheide Castle

This picturesque castle is located between Innsbruck and Kufstein. The international airports in Munich and Salzburg are less than an hour away. The commercial centre of the region is nearby Brixlegg, a city 9 km away from Alpbach. Baron Lipperheide attained the property in 1884 and commissioned an architect to design the castle to his taste. The current owners acquired it in 1968. Before that it was a protected historic monument. The castle was extensively renovated, and all the beautiful frescoes, wooden beam ceilings, library, panellings, and tiled stoves were preserved.


Glass Factory Kisslinger
( 12 km away from Alpbach, 2 km away from Kramsach, 5 km away from Reith )
The glass factory has dazzled and amazed visitors since 1820. Kisslinger is synonymous with class, refinement, and tradition. When in Alpbachtal, it is recommended that you take the opportunity to come and see how glass is manufactured. You will see glass painters, glass engravers, and glass blowers at work in the Kisslinger workshop. Moreover, the glass blowing workshop has a vast collection of superb glass art.
